The first 7 chapters almost made me drop it, but i kept on watching, given the high scores the anime had gotten.. And it did pay off.
What i disliked about this anime:
-One dimensional characters.
-Lack of enjoyment (the story is too heavy, has almost no comedy in it).
What i liked about this anime:
-Totally memorable story.
-Nice character story development.
-Freaking COOL opening theme, only skipped it like 3 times.
Story 9/10:
It starts in a very rough and unstable way, for the first 7 chapters; it can be a bit annoying in this part, but after this you can start to catch up to the pacing. That is when most of the great story elements come to light. Story development after episode 7 and the character arcs were very enjoyable.
Art 9/10:
The drawing and animation was very good and unique, they fitted the story and characters neatly; especially when it portrays the bad guys crazy looks, that was a very memorable detail.
Sound 9/10:
- Opening: COOOOOL, this song blowed me away from the first time i heard it, and it fits the story greatly.
- Ending: Fine, i almost always skipped it.
- Voices: Great, good voice acting, and even English voice acting was featured.
Character 6/10:
This is the biggest weakpoint in this anime, i felt like one of the characters didn't do anything for the entire series, and the characters were "too good" or "too bad", to the point that they didn't react realistically, they felt too forced for the most part of the story, but that is probably the main point of this anime, to show how these one dimensional characters grow through the episodes, and learn from their mistakes.
Enjoyment 6/10:
-Story Enjoyment: After chapter 7 it was a great time watching this anime, and even the first episodes actually make this whole anime unique and memorable, even if i didn't love it.
-"Fun" Element: Very little; the story develops in a way that can often make you cry or feel anger if you are a sensitive person, or even smile, but laughing is not so easy while watching this anime.
Overall 8/10:
I think this is a story worth looking at, it will teach you some lessons if you didn't learn them from shonen animes, and is ultimately a unique experience.
