I’m not going to lie to you. This anime has its problems BUT its good points completely make up for them. The main reason I found this anime compelling in the first place is that it starts of very lightly, not slowly but lightly. The first 20 episodes or so are pure comedy nonsense which also gives you an idea of most of the characters beforehand. After that, again very lightly, it transcends into a more battle oriented plot but again it’s not heavy enough to weigh you down. As the time passes the comedy becomes more ‘inside-joke’ oriented and the problems of the real mafia start to seem more realistic. The greatest point about this anime is that it becomes better with time. The battles, the emotional issues but also the comedic side of the characters’ situation, have developed greatly. If you like comedy, fighting, cool gadgets, epic music and both pretty girls and dashing boys. Then you should take a look at this splendid piece of art. Granted visually it lacks, since the manga is beautifully drawn, but again everything else is up to par with the best of them.
