Story 8/10

The story is hard to review without spoilers, but in terms of execution, the story, although fairly clichéd, is well-written and interesting. Although I felt it sort of dragged in the first half of the show with all the random 'let's run around and drop hints to the main mystery of the show then cover it up with comedy', the second half was very good and intriguing and drops a lot of the awkward humour and fan-service that was in the first half. The ending was predictable and I would've written it differently, however it wasn't bad and managed to give an emotional and sad ending while still giving us a happy end. There were some plot holes with the explanations, but nothing that took away from the story or wasn't too hard to overlook.

Art and Sound 8/10

The color pallet used in the show was very fitting, relying heavily on darker tones and vibrant, warm colors. The box effect they did was somewhat overused and didn't seem incredibly well thought through, but they used colors and perspective well enough that it wasn't too bothersome. Excluding a few fantastic pieces, the sound was mostly forgetful. At the same time, they used what they had well, and the emotional scenes had very good songs that enhanced the mood quite well.

Characters 6/10

There was nothing in particular that I disliked about the characters, but there was nothing much that I really liked, either. One of the biggest draws of the show for me was the chemistry between Yuuko and Teiichi, but individually nothing really stood out. The only thing I can say about them is that they were both nice. The side characters felt more like the standard tsudere and ditz friends that almost every other anime has, but at least the show never forgot about them and made them somewhat important in the end.

Enjoyment 6/10

It was well executed, but nothing was done that I hadn't seen in other anime. The only impactful scene was one of the scenes of an exchange between Yuuko and Teiichi in the last episode, but the scene was undermined by the ultimate ending of the show. The first half was interesting, but it dragged and seemed to rely purely on the mystery surrounding Yuuko and the comedy for it's entertainment. The second half was much better, but was still nothing incredibly different or special.

Overall 7/10
