maybe a slow start for the first series (Clannad).
I would say the series is quite emotional after most of the comic relief was taken out. If your looking for action, or a supernatural based story, look somewhere else. The series has few supernatural influences but I wouldn't say that it is a main feature. The major supernatural parts would be the illusionary world (a far away world that the anime sometimes cuts to).The art may look a little strange for a regular anime viewers but I guarantee that the storyline is superb.
