First of all the obligatory "This is my first review blah blah blah." Anyway, Kotonoha no Niwa or Garden of Words is about Takao and (please just read the synopsis it's all in there)

Story, 9/10
I'm tired of all those romance, SoL anime where this guy falls for this girl which happens to be a tsundere and all shit. The story is pretty well thought, it was very original and even though I always insist that there're no realistic anime, this one is pretty much close. When watching you wouldn't think that "hey this is ridiculous" or " wtf!this doesn't happen irl!"

Art, 9/10
The art was magnificent. Every little thing is very detailed.. from dried leaves falling down the trees to rain drops falling from the sky. The background was too and the scenery is pretty much real that sometimes you'd notice that you're looking at it instead of the characters in there. Watch the HD version.

Sound, 9/10
Sound makes everything look so lively. Action scenes, even with over the top animation, becomes boring unless with a rock or techno music that goes hand in hand with it. It does in drama too. Even a person with the softest heart wouldn't feel anything if he just see someone crying. The sound or to be specific, the OST or BGM, is everything when it comes to these moments and I say it was greatly done in this movie.

Character, 9/10
Tired of all those bland characters that are given a cliched type of personality? Well this is different. Almost everyone is likable. You wound't question anything from them because you know if you're in there that's what you'd do too. In a typical romance anime you'll always find yourself asking: "Why did he fall for that when she's like this?" or "Why does she love him so much when he's like this?" But you wouldn't in this one. The character's development is slow but at the same time fast paced. They were introduced in way that you'll understand them quickly.

Enjoyment, 9/10
I enjoyed this to the fullest. And I'd say that I've heard, I've seen, and I've felt everything this movie wanted me to. Also there was never a dull moment. The duration is 46 mins. but every minute was packed with something you'd surely enjoy.

Overall, 9/10
Although everything I've said up until now are positive things I can't give this a 10. I feel that it lacks something... maybe 46 mins is not enough after all or maybe because of the sappy ending. Perhaps that is one of the downsides of a realistic anime.. it wouldn't end they way you wanted it to.
