The animated adaptation of the series was also popular in Japan, appearing in the top six of Japanese TV Rankings at various times.The television series ranked among the top twenty in polls conducted by anime magazine Animage from 1996 to 2001.It also placed better than twenty-third in polls for the top-one-hundred anime conducted by Japanese television network TV Asahi in 2005–06. The series received considerable airtime in China; it was the second most broadcasted animation there in 2004. Several of the franchise's films were nominated for awards in their home country. The ninth film was nominated for the feature film category at the 5th Annual Tokyo Anime Awards, and the next five films were nominees for the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year in their respective years of release. Detective Conan wonderful series with memorable characters, classic tunes, and cool mysteries to wrap your mind around. Al'tho recently I've seen lots of people who cant seem to understand this anime.There's one saying that they are just repeating the same concept, there's others saying that the main story of this anime is missing. Yeah I kinda understand but it have to be the way it was, because why do you think such a great anime with such potential is missing its main story. I think its because the main story just revolves around a high school detective student his a detective right De-tec-tive so there should be episodes just for the cases, Even though the episode is just for the cases in some episodes the main story is included, so its not just an anime killed by fillers or an anime with random episodes each episode means something regarding the main story. Well lets get to the review.

Story : 7

Detective Conan is one of the greatest classic anime I've seen. The story is slightly unbelievable. But that's part of the fun. There is always that thrill about what's going to happen, Who should we be suspicious of, will he find more information on the Black Organization? I enjoy all the different mysteries, and I think one has to be very creative to be able to think up all of these. the creativeness and the over explanation that they all do on the show.

The animation is pretty good considering that it was made in late 1990s, there are times when you really can see the differences at its animation season by season. I havent watched the recent releases yet but i know that the improvements would be easily seen.

Sound : 6

Ive enjoyed lots of openings and endings of DC. Most of the sound tracks are uniquely done, and well picked so that it will match a particular scene. Sometimes dull scenes become dazzling if its matched with a good sound track, and DC have achieved that.

Character : 8

Gotta give props to Aoyama-sensei becoz this anime have a wide range of characters, thinking a name for each of those is simply amazing. Personalities of different characters perfectly fits them too. How the characters were drawn are sometimes the same but, it still gives off an amazing aura which gives off excitement to viewers.

Enjoyment : 8

I have enjoyed watching DC, mostly because this anime gives a lot of knowledge about science and also shows about Japan in detail, It also only uses the real landmarks, cities, roads, traditions etc for references.

Overall : 8

DC is one of the anime which made my childhood awesome. Overall DC is a mystery anime package full of sudden twists which will get you hooked up. This should be popular to mystery freaks and intellectual geeks/NEETs like me.
