I had fun watching it, and while it pales in comparison to the Visual Novel, I didn't hate it.
The biggest problem is the art is horrible. I mean it looks terrible. The studio could have done much better but some characters just look plain awful. And the CG dragon was just looked retarded.
And then the story. Mixing the Fate Route, Unlimited Blade Works Route, and Heaven's Fell Route just doesn't work. It would have been much better had it been three seasons, each season dedicated to a different route. Or the Fate Route, so then people would read the Visual Novel to find out what happens in the others.
On the other hand the sound is amazing. I loved both the OP, the ED, the voices. Everything was perfect. Especially Archer's voice during the fight with Berserker.
The characters were good, although the development is lacking. This may be due to the fact it is not as descriptive as a book, but it could also be that some characters, especially Sakura, don't get enough screen time.
I enjoyed it though. A lot of moments were really cool and the fights were the most well done parts of the series.
If you liked this, then go buy the Visual Novel, it is SOO much better and you will love it.
