As for the story line, in one word; amazing. On one hand lays the outstanding plot on the other, the deeper meaning, friendship and teamwork, aka it wasn't just a bunch of good-looking guys playing basketball, fan servicing to the fullest. Compared to other anime I've watched, this one has the least fan service so far.
The animation was great, it gave the characters a breath of reality. The music, which is always important, was a thumbs-up too, not only because it was nice but also because the right track popped up on the right moment, accompanying and enhancing it.
The characters were unique in their own ways, each and every one of them having a serious side, sometimes even scary but they never lost a chance to act goofy and silly.
Lastly, I liked this anime very much and I enjoyed watching it, because it was very interesting and the plot was evolving in a short period of time, however it wasn't overwhelming and disappointing. They took an all-time classic sport like basketball and turned it into a something like an actual fight of skills and spirit. Magnificent job. And the skills each character had was unique, the story never repeating itself like it happens in many anime/manga. For all these reasons mentioned above, the total points this anime gets from me are 9.
