The story is very well written, but doesn't really pick up till the final arc of the series. The first 3 arcs of After Story almost feel useless and the story as a whole would have been better without them. But that's when the holy gods of anime happens and the best arcs ever happen and save this anime. If you want to see what i mean i recommend watching After story.
Sound:
The sound was great. At no point did it ever take away from the story telling, and I feel like if the sound wasn't as good as it was the anime would have taken a hit as a whole. Not only is the sound good with the anime it really goes well by itself and can be listened to as a separate entity.
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed this anime very much. It is by a close margin the best anime I have ever seen.
Overall:
I recommend anyone to watch this. It has almost any type of genre in it (some show more than others). You should also watch it if you enjoyed Clannad, even if you didn't like Clannad I suggest you watch this, because it is really good and well worth the watch.
