I felt so compelled after watching the anime that I just had to join and write a review. I took a long walk, and even recorded some things to help me put things into perspective. I'll start by saying this...If you're looking for depth and to be challenged on different levels of thinking, then definitely check out this anime.

I'll explain my scoring a little. I thought the Story, Characters and Enjoyment were "outstanding". I thought the art and music was "good", there weren't any problems, but I wasn't hooked or mesmerized by the music, though I'm sure some people would be.

Now for the good stuff; I'll try my very best not to spoil anything, but I do suggest, regardless of what's said, that you watch the anime for yourself.

Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) hooked me from the first episode. Here is this introverted young man that's about to embark on a journey. I thought the idea of the anime was creative and It kept me guessing and at the edge of my seat throughout the entire show. Initially I hadn't seen the number of episodes in the list, so as I watched it, I was hoping it would be longer than 12 episodes, because I just couldn't get enough of it. Just when I thought I had things figured out, a plot twist came hurdling into view and set things in a direction I hadn't even imagined.

I'll be open, I hated Yukki throughout the entire show until the end. Many of his actions screamed "selfish", and not the kind where you're "self-oriented", but actually selfish. His supporting cast member Yuno, had problems of her own, many that I'll leave for you to see. If I were in a film class or a psychology class, I would use this film, because of it's dark corners and the nature of the dilemmas that the characters must traverse in order to survive. You can expect character development and a lot of this happens as the story's twists and turns lead you deeper into the story.

The show pushes the boundaries; Good and Bad, Hero and Villain aren't things you can expect to see here. Throw out your typical lense and get some new spectacles. Expect to be brought deep. I was moved to tears in some instances, because it challenges the typical values and senses of morality that we're exposed too.

"What would you do if you were Yukki?" This is ultimately what got me past my disgust for his character, and even though he, and many of the characters are "problematic" at best. You learn that people are the products of their environment. The way we're raised, the environment we grow up in, and the decisions we make ultimately impact our actions. Watch it right through and you'll understand...

Watch this show...I'm not even kidding. Be ready to ride the rollercoaster, to get emotional in some scenes and to challenge your typical with this psychologically thrilling, sometimes disturbing, mentally invigorating, funny, dramatic work. You will be entertained, there's a little bit of everything and you'll question the character's and their intentions quite abit.

Thanks for reading this review and I hope you enjoyed it.
