This movie is littered with literary devices. It is a masterpiece and a rare find for all the anime genres out there. There are not a plethora of these types of movies, so I highly recommend watching this one.
It is the classic tale of the hero rescuing the damsel in distress, but in this movie, both the hero and the damsel in distress are saved. That is the most beautiful thing about this movie.The young boy, an aspiring shoemaker, saves the woman by helping her learn to walk again and in return, he, himself is saved.
"The Garden of Words", a fitting title for this masterpiece. Though ironic that few words were exchanged in this garden, the words that were exchanged are symbolic and exceptionally beautiful and is illustrated beautifully.
Everything about this movie is superb. If I was ever devoid of feelings, I certainly am no longer.
