Well, lets just say slice of life is pretty much uncharted territory for mainstream anime watchers. So with that, there is a series that may be able to change people's minds with the stereotypical fact that slice of life anime are for people that say there life sucks, i have no boyfriend or girlfriend, and I look so ugly. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru or My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU may be that underrated or equally rated hit that people consider.

Story- This story centralizes around Hachiman Hikigaya, who in fact, is rejected by literally the general population of his school and doesn't give a dookie about anyone in the school either, but there is a girl who is in the same club that he is forced join in named Yukino Yukinoshita who feels the same too yet has differing opinions about things. Then after that the meet another girl named Yui Yuigahama that is more popular and your stereotypical japanese social kawaii teen. The story is a very strong yet a little weak point of the entire series. It really excels at the two's pointless banter about who is right and wrong, how should we handle it, and what will come out of it. It also excels at the three main character's struggles as they learn how to help others and help themselves to. It really is a weird yet satisfying string of events that need to be looked at.

Art- Whoever made the art to this really make it contrast from the character's emotions and ideas. The art is bright, colorful, and is what you want or expect in other slice of life. However the standard SOL style art is kind of what also adds to the story as the the two main protagonists are very harsh, grim, and even mean which is an odd contrast that works with the art of the show.

Sound- Nothing short of amazing, the theme is catchy, sad, and very heartwarming at the same time which is what makes the theme outstanding. The background music also makes a heightening situation even more intense when you watch it. It's really a great mix which makes it a connected experience.

Character- Okay, now we are at the characters. Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui are the supremely strong in this anime and is the one of the only reasons why I stood until the end for these characters. The other popular kids are why this doesn't get a perfect score. They are just complete jerks that just completely shoot down Hachiman and/or Yukino's very intelligent and very truthful ideas. It just makes them feel like the stereotypical nice or jerk boy/girls people saw in public school.

Enjoyment- This section really depends on who you are. If you are a newcomer to anime or SOL anime, you might found some or more enjoyment in this anime. If you prefer the mechs and sword fighting shonen animes, there is a chance you might not like it. For open anime watchers, you will find a lot of enjoyment in this anime. As stated before, it really does depend on what you enjoy in anime.

Overall- The ending might boil your anger a bit, but overall it is a good SOL. The three characters (I know I didn't touch on Yui but that is because discussing her is basically a big spoiler fest) make this anime very strong. The story is strong, art is what I expected, sound is exceptional, characters are amazing with some yet others are stereotypical and lacking, and enjoyment really depends on the person you are but is one of the most enjoyable SOL I have watched in a long time. Seeing another series, season, or an OVA of this would really be sad since this should stand on its own. Heck, it could change peoples minds about this genre. I hope we can see more SOL like this.
