Introduction
Elfen Lied is regarded as one of the most popular anime of all time. It's story follows Lucy, a mutated human called a Diclonius, and Kouta, a crappy character who digs his cousin. The story revolves around people coming into contact with Diclonii and a government agency trying to capture Lucy of whom escaped. Everyone should definitely watch this, I just really hated Kouta and Yuka.
Story (9)
The story and plot of this anime was phenomenal the whole concept of the Diclonius and their vectors (invisible arms that they use as weapons) is very original. People complain about the gore but honestly I feel it was never over done especially after you watch the whole show you'll feel it was justified.
Art (8)
There are certain scenes where more gore was needed (you'll know when you see it). The scenery was nice however the characters eyes pissed me off at some points (Like Kouta and Yuka because they suck).
Sound (7)
Lilium was a great song and was used just enough to almost annoy you a little but not enough to hate it. Watch this anime subbed I started it with dubbed and the characters just sound like trash.
Characters (4)
It only gets a 4 because Mayu, Nana, and Lucy were so well put together it makes up for the easily hated characters Kouta and Yuka. Kouta is the second main character next to Lucy and he is such a little bitch. Yuka is just an obnoxious incest-minded nuisance that the show would have been better if she were not in it.
The story behind Mayu is extremely emotional and Nana is a lovable character who has a very good sense of right and wrong. Lucy's story honestly could have been an anime alone excluding all other characters.
Enjoyment (9)
This is a must watch anime and I did enjoy it. I took me a while and at times I had to force down an episode to get to some of the better ones.
