Elfen Lied was my first anime i ever watched, way to go gong-ho, right? After I watched it, i took me some time to watch other anime because it left a mark and boy was it high. I didn't know if i could watch anything else after i watched Elfen Lied, because i feared nothing can remotely compare. You honestly will never be the same. It made me feel more than any other anime i have ever seen. Open your heart and mind to Elfen Lied. But before you do please know some of the following...

Story:
The plot itself is very original not typical whatsoever. I love the idea of a mutated homosepian that are labeled dangerous, i would just classify them as angry as hell because experimentation isn't very pleasant, oh and did i mention the sad story arcs, WARNING!,you will be on the verge of cry through out the series, and some moments are just unforgettable emotionally and visually. Some things you should know: there is nudity, which isn't ecchi by the way, its honestly not that graphic. There is also a plenitude of gore and mutilated limbs, but that's just part of the commitment, please allow yourself to overlook the nudity and violence because its what makes the anime what it is and i cant see it otherwise without those elements.

Art:
The art isn't my cup of tea, the use of baby faces and big manga eyes isn't really my thing, but you learn to adapt, because that style suits it well, so i learned to love it (for this anime only).

Sound:
The opening song is just breathtaking, beautiful and serene. Its sad, but lets not forget Elfen Lied is striving to pull at your heartstrings.

Character:
The character development is superb within its short 12 episode duration. You learn to accept and become willing to forgive. I honestly became more aware of peoples feelings because of Elfen Lied.

Elfen Lied will keep you at you peak interest in its franchise if you will. Let the truth be known Elfen Lied is honest to god my favorite anime, it was a popular anime and i knew going in to it not give it any special treatment, i can confirm its not overrated or hype, its something else entirely.
