This manga went from the top of a hill and just came tumbling down by the end of volume 1. I admired the beginning of it, when Chiaki was still adorable. After her relationship with Ororon crashes, however, the manga took a 180 spin and turned for the worst. The mangaka somehow thought that killing everything the cast comes in contact with makes a good plot. While that works with some manga, it most certainly did not work for this one.
Overall, I was disgusted with how the manga ended. It was as if the mangaka just took the storyline and threw out the last 75% and decided "Hey, screw everyone! Let's kill them all off!" My advice to readers who would like to give this manga a try is to expect a series of skull-numbing disappointments near the end of volume 1 till the end of the series.
