Sword Art Online is one of the best anime I've ever seen. It's got a great mixture of different genres and blends them together very well.
I gave it:
10 - Story
9 - Art
9 - Sound
10 - Character
10 - Enjoyment
making it 10 overall

Story: It takes an interesting setting that people may say it's a ripe off of .hack// and anime like that. But all anime reuse the same setting, how many times have you seen an anime at a school setting? It's the fact that it is presented very well that makes SAO really good.
More on the story, it has a incredible flow. SAO puts on serious mood at times, making your heart pump; but knows when to put breaks in as well, making you smile. Watching this anime really makes you wonder what if this was real? How would I approach this if I were there? As you watch what each character goes through.

Art: The setting of this anime is in a mmorpg type game. You can only image the different art and images that can be produced with a world you can imagine up yourself!

Sound:The music in this series was done very well, the different music that appeared in different situations really impacted on the story telling as a whole. Although it was very well done, I didn't find myself memorizing a certain tone. It is more like the music really fitted the spur of the moment.

Character: I personally loved the characters, the main characters in the show really grows on you fast. You'll see the characters become more mature and you become somewhat attached to them, making you want to know what happens next and really rooting for them during battles.

Enjoyment: I really enjoyed the anime. When the fighting happens I find myself sometimes sitting on the edge of the chair while watching cause it's that intense! And I really enjoyed the calm and peaceful moments, that just puts a smile on my face.

Overall this was a fantastic anime. I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope this helps!
