This anime follows the journey of Balsa, she is a spear wielder who has her own unfortunate history which brings about how she deals with a situation where she is asked to look after a child. You follow the journey of Balsa and this child, seeing both characters blossom and by the end of the series, you are satisfied with the magnificent ending, one of which most animes do a poor job of doing and it really does make you feel like you have wasted your time watching it.

The art and animation are good, unlike animes such as 'Kingdom' it does actually show animation of the fights rather than use suggestive lines and close ups to cheat there way out of it. The sound was satisfactory but hearing it only in dolby digital may reduce its impact on me, as for the score, whilst it worked well, other than the weird broken English opening, it doesn't have the same impact as some other animes and could be considered quite generic but still serves its purpose well.

The characters is truly where this anime shines, as said previously, you follow this forced relationship where it slowly blossoms and in the end, you can tell the two have truly bonded like mother and child. I would give it 2-3 episodes to truly understand what this anime is like, it did feel somewhat reminiscent of Avatar: the legend of aang due to the presence of another 'world' but it is only briefly explored.

However, the ending is truly what set it up for me, I would probably have given this a 8 or possibly 9 but the ending just felt complete. Another anime I enjoyed was Attack on titans but I was so disappointed in where it got up to that I marked it down and whilst this doesn't have much to go on, it is a great journey which I hope more people watch and enjoy.
