When you think gundam, you think of people piloting cool mechs and blowing things up right? I'm not going to lie to you, that aspect is alive and well, but Gundam 00 is so much more than that.

The series starts out with gundams being gundams and sliding around tearing the world a new one. While you're paying attention to the action though, the characters are developed into real people with a legitimate reason to pilot a gundam and try to put an end to all the coflict in the world.

surprisingly my favorite parts of the anime were the parts that dealt the least with the gundams. I liked the civilian characters the most because they brought the effects of war into the light and you could relate to the way they felt. There were relateable thoughts like "the war doesn't effect me" or something like "why is this happening to me? I have nothing to do with these battles!"

At the end, when everything is approaching the climax and everything is laid on the line, you can feel the fervent emotions of the gundam pilots. As the characters approach their limits mentally, physically and emotionally you feel their efforts pull at your heartstrings. I'm not ashamed to admit that i cried at the end.

Of course, you may be wondering why i gave the character an 6 if i loved the anime so much. Well, the thing is, throughout the anime there are 3 world powers and there are the soldiers and mobile suits of each side joining in the battle. So at first i was COMPLETELY at a loss to which world power the one character was assigned to or which world power used which type of mobile suit.

In the end all of that confusion is overrided because he characters that really matter are the gundam pilots and they are undoubtedly part of celestial being.

This anime is accessable to all groups because it has cool mechs blowing each other up for the guys and teary moments for that girls. I hope you enjoy this anime as much as I did.
