Oregairu, summarized, is about a boy named Hikigaiya who has not grown up socially. Instead of the show being about the boy growing, it is about how he lives in the world of friends and community interaction trying to hold on to what he values as his independence. As the story progresses, we see cracks in his resolve that usually end sealed back up by his self sacrificial mindset.
To put this in the category RomCom would be mistaken - there is little romance although Hikigaiya can get flustered at times.
A personal note - this is the first anime that I have watched multiple subs for a complete season. The dialogue can be complicated, and you will get the feeling that you are missing something in each translation. It's an enjoyable series, so watching a couple times is not tedious.
