Mixed Feelings
If you ever watch any Pokemon movies back in the old days, you would know they were some of best anime childhood movies out there. Even if you didn't, they were epic spin-off from the main series which takes up a level with thrilling adventure of saving the world with the stunning beauty of landscape. But you would think the Pokemon company can pull it off it once again after doing a unsuspectingly amount of great movies, but all I can say is that shine that once shone brilliantly, has finally lost its jewel with the end of the Arceus The Jewel Of Life Movie.

Story: [5] Pokemon ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens starts with the exciting mega evolution Mewtwo as the highlight legendary of this movie. We soon encounter the other legendary of this movie Genesect who wakes up in a world that has changed millions of years later. Without spoiling too much on the plot, I summaries my feelings on this. It definitely was a better movie than any of previous Pokemon Best Wishes Movies; which did not feature Ash as main protagonist but Pokemon or some other hero instead which feels a risky decision and it was, in my opinion. The tale of a hero that many of us grew watching Pokemon, watched Ash and his crew enter a massive world crisis which he later becomes the savior of the world, is what Pokemon movies are known for. This movie however has improve since from the last 2 movies and puts Ash somewhat as the hero but falls because of its cliche and unsophisticated plot. The minuscule complication, melodramatic moments and friendship cheesiness was what this movie was. This can be first noticed at the beginning where Mewtwo first offering help which putting away the suspense of a extreme catastrophic setting. On and on the movie was rushed and forced for yearly sequel release rather than creatively setting up a better story.

Art[8] - Art as the same with the last couple of Pokemon movies. Or in other words, it is visually not ground-breaking but its nice with HD now but its a bit lower standard with most new anime but is obliterated in comparison to the visually-stunning animes.

Sound[6] - Pokemon talking? Or should I say telepathy. Not as great as the characters but they could of done it better in my opinion. Maybe it was because it was in english dub but I seen jap in Pokemon before and it was more pleasing to watch in english, though this may be own preference. Otherwise the sound wasn't superb; especially no bmg was ever used or even so, it wasn't particularly setting/matching the tone of the scene.

Character[5] = This is the problem with pokemon is that Ash doesn't really grow or learn new things but instead forgets it like he has some sort of bad amnesia. Otherwise characters don't play in a huge role but even so they don't know how to solve problems but perhaps only latter with some sort of epiphany which the answer was quite obvious to anyone.

Enjoyment[5] = I have to say I was more happy about this movie as compared to the last 2 pokemon movie. It is a step up from where they fall, but it wasn't a good plot and the characters did not increase the suspense of the movie. Likewise with the black and white anime and games series as a whole, it was like the whole 5th gen was a pitfall for Pokemon. But with recent pokemon x and y, I think they can do better with a fresh start in the 6th Gen anime.
