People say it's famous for it's gore and nudity but in fact the only real gore and "nudity" actions are only to be found in the first episode, in my opinion you can't even call it "nudity" because of the storyline and it is a "horror" after all.
Before you judge this anime by the fanbase reviews (please be aware that the major people of the fanbase are not even 18 yet, so of course they won't like this as they are not old enough to understand the story, see it as a psychological thriller film.) you should definitely watch it by yourself. This anime has a very strong and touching story, of course it has gore but I'm not a person who gets easily touched by what he sees but rather the storyline. If you do have some problems with gore (violence included) I would still recommend you to watch it as the story goes on and you'll find yourself an amazing experience. There will be sad moments, but there will also be happy moments.
The characters of this anime have their own problems and they're trying to help each others and eventually build a big family. Even though when things go wrong they are still supporting each others back and endure the pain until the end.
I'm pretty sure that the "mature" watchers will definitely enjoy this anime, but if you are not 17-18 yet I'm not sure that you will be able to enjoy the storyline and rather fade into the gore screens. Don't get me wrong though, this is not an "adult film", but the storyline just needs to be appreciated.
So in short, if you are interested in the storyline rather than fightscenes, this is a must-see, otherwise it's all up to you ;).
Oh and if you are searching for a tearjerking anime, this is one of a kind which will without a doubt make you feel sad (or even cry) afterwards.
*What I liked:
-The amazing storyline (was very touching, sad, happy, everything you need).
-Characters are united and help eachothers (sort of character development).
-Very good quality anime.
-Twisted plot.
-The animators gave it an alternative ending because the manga wasn't finished yet, I really liked the ending although it's an open ending.
*What I disliked:
-Instead of making a season 2 they gave it an alternative ending which was good but it would be better if they had followed the manga. Don't get me wrong, many reviewers still think that the anime ending was better than the manga.
-A lot of questions are still unanswered in the anime.
