Just finished watching the 203th (last) episode and I am not at all in awe of the finale or conclusion. I kept on watching it by skipping it 10 seconds and going fast-forward only because I was the only Shonen anime I hadn't watched and it's definitely below them all. I was intrigued by the prospects of the base story of the Mafia world in the beginning, the Flames in the middle and the Box weapons in the end. This series could have been much better if only the writer had gone into more character development. The anime has useless childish moments of the protagonist Tsuna's girlfriends worrying about him,. Instead they could have utilised it in character development of the some really interesting characters, Rokudo Mukuro, byakuran, etc. and provide a history of their past events. Half of the characters history is unknown (Flan and others). The series should have exploited more of their calibre by getting more fights.
Another bad thing was any good weapon/concept was only used once, e.g. the combination of box weapons, etc.
This series has humour and little action but fails on the story part. The concept of Mafia, ring, flames, 7 policy, etc in the anime could have made it a marvellous anime but the inadequate usage of the elements has brought it to the bottom of my anime list.
Now that I think about it, I wasted quite a long time, especially during the starting 50 episodes.
Potential wasted !
