Now i want to just say if you want a great anime with laughs tears and small doces of action, this is the anime for you the violence is minimal but the characters are to die for! Nagisa is adorable in every was possible, Tomoya is a bit of a git but thats why we love him!
There is only one flaw with this anime... which is the english dub i RARELY complain about dubs its not who i am... hey i like the bleach dub... people want to murder me for that.. and i like the Naruto dub... im sure you want to burn me at the stake right about now.
But this animes English dub... jesus Tomoya and Nagisa get together im sorry if thats a spoiler but its so obvious its crazy in the english dub i dont feel like there doing to get together... they dont feel connected at all my main reason for feeling this is NAGISA SOUND 6! AND TOMOYA SOUNDS LIKE A 40 YEAR OLD WITH A SMOKING HABIT!!! urg im sorry but i needed to get that off my chest.
If your going to watch this anime (Which i highly recommend) you do) please for the love of god experience it to its fullest and watch it subbed!
As for the after story... i once again say watch it in japanese as some moments... need the right voice reaction.... to show how in distress people are, Clannad after story has made me cry ever time iv watched it through, i re-watched it recently as a 19 year old man and cried like six times.
If you like romance and heartbreaks this anime if for you, asin i dont no why your not watching it! the way they build relationships... is so real in this show its crazy and when they fall apart i feel like im watching close friends drift away from one another and im that awkward one left to watch.
character development over both Clannad and after story are done superbly, the art style is simply to die for especially the eyes! so well done, you can really tell Nagisa, Akki and sanae are related just by there design its done so well. You can also really tell who Ushios parents are just by looking at her as she's design slightly differently then her parents, parents. (Trying my best not to spoil much)
Voices 100% watch in japanese i cant stress this enough! i hated the english dub it ruins all the adorable scenes!
All in all Clannad and Clannad After story get a 10/10 from me! Iv re-watched it so many times and can'y wait to own them all on DVD i regret buying a bunch of anime as After story was released in England Three weeks later haha but next job i get its the first on my list!
