I could go on about this anime for days if I were to cover everything it had to offer, but I wish to try and remain brief, so I will cover the part that stood out most to me. While like many stories in the gratuitously under appreciated genre that is anime, the plot line and visual concepts are rich. This is truly a masterfully written story created by an author who comprehends the complexities and individualities of the human soul, as well as how to breathe life into prose. I fell in love with the characters as they themselves did. I felt pain when they did. I felt hatred and the desire to hurt those who would hurt the characters I loved, as they did. I wept with them, and grew stronger through their losses as they did. All because in the time I was mesmerized by this story, I was not in fact losing a day in my world, but gaining one in theirs, as they themselves did. We may not yet have VRMMOs like the ones projected in this story, but we have the closest thing to that. We have Sword Art Online, a world just as real as our own. And the masterful storytelling of this anime made me a part of that world as I watched it.
