Holding back any and all spoilers.

The series starts off relatively mediocre. I'll admit it was quite a struggle to get through the first 15 or so episodes, but at one point the series magically gets extremely interesting. Its like a lightbulb went off in the mangaka's head while scheming this up.

Story: The premise of the story is relatively simple. God gives 11 people a "Mirai Nikki", a future diary. These people are to kill of one another and the last one standing is to become the new god. But if it was just that I wouldn't have given the story a 7. The plot twists are numerous and unexpected. I marathoned through the last 10 episodes without realizing that I had stayed up all night. This is a thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat, which has never really happened to me before in an anime.

Art: Good art, characters are drawn well and fight scenes are done well.

Sound: The bgm is well chosen for each scene and adds emotion to them. I'm a huge bgm buff and I think that the important scenes had the perfect bgm to accompany them.

Character: Ahh, my favorite part of anime and any story: characters. In this series, the characters start off really static and dull. Yukiteru, the male lead is basically Ikari Shinji. This is basically saying he is the biggest p*ssy ever. The female lead, Gasai Yuno is adorable, but a crazy psychopath. Here is where the series can either make or break. This series managed to show each of the main characters' reasoning on why they are fighting, and why they act like they do. It was a work of art turning what seemed like a disaster into what it ended up being. In the end I was pretty attached to each character, even the psychopath.

Enjoyment: I gave it a 9 because of all the above. I enjoyed the series and I wish I could watch it again, but all of the excitement is in the thriller elements. So I hope you all enjoy it like I did.

Overall: Although I enjoyed it, there are still some major flaws in the plot twists. With plot twists, you have to fill in those holes that you just opened up. That never really happened. Still a good series though, and I would recommend it to anybody who is in the mood to watch something dark and twisted.
