They have fantastic art, and quite interesting worldbuilding. The characters are distinct and lots of fun. They are, well, both cooking manga.
They're both very well thought out and well made series that mix together all of the above stated elements excellently, and transition between serious moments and fun easily and smoothly as well.

Both manga deal with hunting, survival, and eating monsters/dragons. Featuring likeable and well-characterised crews, both series also explore rich worldbuilding and fantastic biology of monsters. Also food porn!
Setting-wise, Dungeon Meshi is closer to DnD/dungeon-crawling fantasy, while Kuutei Dragons is similar to Ghibli/Miyazaki works.

Like how Dungeon Meshi go into the detail of dungeon ecosystem and how to cook many monster that the Laios part found, Kuutei Dragons also do that but with dragons intead. Kuutei Dragons is basically whaling but with dragons, so if u interested in the adventure aspect of dungeon meshi, this manga is recomended.
