Both series are about a main male protagonist who starts out as an underdog but works their way up in the martial arts world. Their journey takes them against powerful adversaries while discovering their true potentials. Both series features a lot of action as part of the fighting mechanics involved in their storytelling. In addition, there's decent character growth with the main protagonist that sees him evolve over the course of the story.
Both have many same premises:
1. A boy as main character.
2. A boy who is interested in martial art.
3. A boy who works hard in order to be stronger and skillful in martial art/fighting.
4. Dojo/martial art academy.
5. Mixed Martial Art.
6. Explanation about martial art techniques.
7. Friendship and its ups and downs.
8. Lewd scenes and pranks.
9. Comedy/hilarious scenes.
10. Love.
11. Martial art tournaments.
PS: In my opinion, Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru shows more brutality and perversion.
