These two manga deal with show biz in Japan. Both protagonists are not your usual everyday talent and actually enter the show biz for other people (skip beat for revenge and akb49 to help). Both give a similar feel even though the storylines differ greatly. hope you enjoy both.
A main character taking steps into the entertainment industry. Both series are like a journey as they chronicle the careers/developments of a main character who starts off fresh but begins to learn more about a profession that they never thought they'd pursue. There's plenty of room for comedy, relationship developments, and personal conflicts that become part of the main story plot. There's also bits of romance that revolves around both drama and fate. Check both series are out if you're interested in these sort of gimmicks.
They both talk about the challenges of being famous and of aiming for the top. In Skip Beat! The female lead follows her long time childhood crush into the show business in order to get revenge by beating him in his own game for leaving her like trash. In AKB49, the male lead follows his longtime crush into AKB in order to help her with her dream. (So basically the similarity is that they get into the show business to follow someone) The two mangas also show the hardships of becoming famous and how the characters overcome these obstacles.
