I consider Arcana a more mature version of Anima. There is still the animal-eared people who are outcasted, but Arcana is more of a romance with royalty and a darker plot. Anima is a sweeter story about young(er) teens trying to find a place to belong.

Fantasy settings with lots of human-animal people (sub-humans, +Anima), who experience a lot of prejudice from those who are fully human.
