Haruhi Fujioka and Tsukushi Makino are both poor girls at elite schools. They both aren't the type of people who "center" around the most popular guy [Tamaki and Tsukasa]. And they are both high school stories.

One middle-class girl and her reverse-harem of insanely wealthy guys, coming right up! Ouran is intentionally a lot more gimmicky and silly to the point of ocassional parody when it comes to its approach, but Hanadan's funny moments are not exactly scarce.

Both story have a poor girl. But high school host club is more funnier then hana yori dango. But hyd is lots more romantic story. I love hyd and hshc.

Both of the stories' main characters come from a hard working class while going to a rich/more prestige school. Both the characters also start forming an acquaintance to some boys from that school. Something that is different is the guys' characters, and the relationship they form with the main characters. Also although HYD is fun at times, Ouran High School has more humour in it and thus making the manga a bit more easy going. Both are great and I seriously recommend you read them both!
