Surprisingly enough, Gundam Build Fighters and Cardfight Vanguard share a number of similarities than one might think. They both involve competitive games among players/characters using skills. But more importantly, they learn through experience to become better at what they do.
The main male protagonists in both series are kind and very caring toward their friends. They have a friend that battles alongside them throughout the series.
Throughout both series, they encounter new friends and rivals along the way while becoming better players. There are also bits of comedy and small hints of romance.
