Both are anime made for girls that guys can really like. If you're a guy and you like realistic/idealistic romance anime than this is for you.
Kimi ni Todoke is another series about a socially awkward girl, who through a bit of makeup and a chance with some new friends proves to be more then what she was first thought of.

Socially inept/awkward girls who meet a social person who help change their interactions with the outside world.
Sweetheart "ugly" Unpopular girls as main characters and a handsome popular boy who notice her in both. Kuragehime is better though. Kimi ni Todoke starts off promising but drags the same conflict ooon and ooon.
