Both about about a game, eventhough saki has more magical element to it, while tamayomi is pure muscle. Both have yuri subtext, and both just abruptly end in the middle of tourney. Both have same tense moment in betweeen the action, because both game is turn based, both anime has a good time on calculating and making strategy based on unique abilities of each individual. Both anime feel really slow that the whole anime only cover a miniscule amount of game.
