Although the plot are far different from each other, both shows have similar balance of seriousness and quirkiness. Both are quite witty shows with interesting and mysterious characters. Both has some unexpected actions, making it suspenseful but are presented in a unique and fun way.

They both have GRAND PLOTS. The characters have strong backgrounds and unique personalities. Both are relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Even the endings are both wrapped up in the most satisfying ways. If you enjoy the Great Pretender, then you'll most definitely enjoy watching Eden of the East as well.
