Kubo is basically a milder, inferior version of Bokuyaba.
It does have sturdier visuals though.
The lead girls in both shows have an interest in the lead boys who are not on anyone's radar socially or romantically and both lead boys have no self confidence and have bad self imagine which leads them to be oblivious to the lead girls feelings

Both stories involve an introvert MC and a Beautiful Classmate that's interested. Their relationship starts to evolve in a beautiful way.
Both involve an shy / introvert mc that nobody notice, and an extravert / popular and very kind girl notice them and help them getting more confidence in themselves and get an attachment/interest for them.
Both anime are pretty cute and have many gentle scenes.
