While not entirely similar by genre standards, Haruhi and Isshuukan Friends gives off a similar vibe with its cast of characters. They both follow a slice of life format although Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu has the additional element of supernatural element in it. But that element also turns into an arc that shares a similar concept to Isshuukan Friends.
