First of all, both series contain tragedy themes that brings on emotions within a viewer. Both series has a normal protagonist that interacts with a not so normal girl. Both series has good animation style and has other characters with contrasting personalities. Both series additionally have some romance themes that expand beyond the typical love triangles. Both series also have a mystery like atmosphere that fills the void that mixes in drama, some comedy, and emotions.
