Both are fantasy anime featuring protagonists who travel the world as merchants. In both cases, they're accompanied by a beautiful woman who is half-human, half-beast (Raphtalia is a tanuki, while Holo is a wolf). The main difference between them is that "Shield Hero" is an action-oriented anime that has the merchant and economic parts as more of a side thing, while with "Spice and Wolf" it's the other way round. Raphtalia is also nicer than Holo, the latter of whom has a rather cruel and manipulative streak. I think "Shield Hero" is better, as it has better visuals and characters as well as a wider audience appeal.

Both shows focus on money and merchanting also most main girls have anime ears. While shield also has an other world fight thing going spice and wolf is more focused on the merchant economic side.

- Both contain trade and travel in a medieval, large scale world - Both contain kemono best girls, with ears and tail (Tate: Tanuki, Ookami: Wolf) - Both contain interaction with common people, as compared to heros and nobility - Both have a plot which is driven by both individual decisions and world-level external factors outside the influence of the protagonists - Both contain a human-kemono love story

If you liked the relationship that the main characters have then you may like this anime! They are very similar physically, it can be said that they were inspired a bit by Ookami to Koushinryou. They have a monetary system and acts based on it, which is more important in this last. If it is not enough to appear physically, I could say that both begin having a dependency relationship, which although it is not so strong at first at difference with Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, you could come to be surprised by continuing to see the needs of both throughout the episodes. Both has to   read more
