Both have the "nostalgia" thing going for them with the plot jumping back in forth from past to present. Both also have something happen in the past that has caused the characters to change somehow through the years

If you enjoyed the friendship aspect of the characters in one anime, I recommend the other. Both shows have the theme of a group of childhood friends reuniting after a long time. While I think Myself; Yourself deals with a few darker aspects (and although one show is a few years older than the other), overcoming past quarrels/issues to reunite and rediscover old friendship bonds is prevalent in both anime - as well as they can both be considered emotional, slice-of-life, short anime series with a pinch of romance that have made at least someone out there shed a few unexpected tears.

Both of them are about a group of friends that used to meet when they were younger and after some time that they split off by some reason. Then when they're teeangers, start hanging up again and they realized that some of them have some black past , that are trying to fight with....
Both are about a group of childhood friends who lost one member(In Myself;Yourself he moved while in Ano Hana he died),and now they have returned and reunited with their friends only to find they have changed and both are drama-romances.Ano Hana has a supernatural twist while Myself;Yourself is much more dark.

High school romance with drama, tragedies, twists and turns. Similar concepts with different executions.
