Similar premise, Isshukan is sort of melancholic while Komi is a comedy
both have their protagonist trying to both- be friends with & make friends for a beautiful but ""disabled"" girl.

Both feature characters who are unable to make friends due to extreme social problems. They meet a person who is able to help them begin to overcome their issues. Despite their differences in theme (Komi-san is primarily a comedy whereas Isshuukan Friends is a slice of life), they both tread very similar ground.
