Gurren Lagann is referenced thoughout the series and Space Patrol Luluco is more enjoyable after having seen it as well as other Gainax and Trigger productions.
Tendon Toppa Gurren Lagann and Uchuu Patrol Luluco were made by basically the same people. They have a similar atmosphere, Similar art styles, and a similar variety of over-the-top action mixed with comedy. The biggest differences are probably their lengths, the amount of detail in their characters/stories, themes, and the amount of substance that each has to offer (TTGL does basically everything better)
That being said, if you liked one you'll probably love the other :3
Both are trippy af high energy chaotic series from the same production team (before gainax employees moved to trigger) and are oozing with a stylish flair to it.

Galactic anime is what I’d use to describe Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Uchuu Patrol Luluco. Both anime are directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and have a similar over the top style, with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann being heavier on action than Uchuu Patrol Luluco, which relies more on comedy. Luluco is also kinda like a female Simon. If you want anime in a galactic setting, check these two out. You won’t regret it in the slightest.
