Consequences to actions. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Spirited Away both follow a protagonist who gets more than they bargained for.
TokiKake's energetic but somewhat delusional Makoto uses her time travel powers for her own convenience, Spirited Away's Chihiro starts off as a bratty child who wants things her way. They both suffer from their own wills as a result which leads them to grow and understand how things really function in the world they didn't understand at first.
Both are great films with one being a Ghibli adventure classic, the other being made by the glory of which Madhouse can bring.
