The series revolves around siblings whose presence and influence are well known to those around them. Through unorthodox means, they challenge the accepted systems of the world and society. As a team, they are an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.
Both anime have genius protagonists who have a thing for their sisters. The main characters pretty much live in worlds where they are unbeatable and the only one who can defeat them is their sister.
At first glance, No Game No Life (NGNL) and Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (MKnR) don't have many similarities if you just take the premise of the respective stories. However, a noticeable trend is adopted throughout the series, and that is the mastermind type characters within the anime.
Tatsuya Shiba (MknR) and Sora (NGNL) are both characters with immense mental skills, able to create masterful solutions to problems that will have viewers on the edge of their seats, whether it's being unexpectedly skilled at magic engineering (MKnR) or Outwitting a certain Human and her elf friend (NGNL).

Both of these animes have two main characters which are:
- Both brother and sister;
- Both have a special relationship with each other;
- Both are geniuses/are completely overpowered compared to the rest of the cast;
- Both put each other as their top priority in almost anything.
The shows are also similar in that they have the occasional strategic fights between the protagonists and antagonists. They also have their own level of magic set throughout the plot, although one is more fantasy while the other more not-so-distant future (urban modern environment). Both of the shows also have very colourful and vibrant color pallets and designs. And have harem

Both of the protagonist are OP in their own ways and are geniuses beyond comprehension, and both have intimate (maybe even more than that) relationships with their little sisters. A good bit of action is seen in both anime.
Both main characters are badasses and have sisters that love their brothers (as siblings). Both main characters are OP and very smart.

Both revolve around a pair of siblings with various strengths that compliment each other perfectly. While the brother only sees their sister as just that- a sister- the sister is hinted to have a crush on their brother, though Miyuki goes WAY past hints.
It's also established in both shows that the siblings never lose, so the draw of both stories isn't IF they're going to win, but HOW they're going to win.
I personally prefer "The Irregular at Magic High School", as it has much better art and music, though "No Game, No Life" has a better story and is more fun. Overall, both are worth
