Two works that surely share an eerie and uncanny feeling, related to the machinery and gadgets that drive the plot in the two stories respectively. However, there's still room for pleasant portraits of daily life and character development, that make it possible for the viewer to get really attached to the main cast.
Both troubling, unsettling adventures with a tame use of a somewhat distressing, creepy imagery and a great use of pacing for enhancing the plot while it unravels to us viewers.
