Both are based on novels written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Both feature orphaned young girls who move into a new home and struggle to adjust with their new family and surroundings. Both protagonists are tomboys with very strong imaginations, and both stories are filled with drama.
If you like one then you'll most likely enjoy the other, the settings are very similar but the characters and events are different enough that it doesn't feel like it's just a copy.
