Both series are similar in having :
• Countryside MC playing & loving his favorite sport : Baseball for Diamond, Soccer for Ao.
• Great teammate spirit, keeping his love for the sport and minding his mates.
• Having to leave country to go in Tokyo to play at an higher level
• MC have similar temperament, noisy, overjoyed, positive mind
Both are sports series where
- Main characters (MC) are trying to attend one of the nation's strongest clubs (high standards)
- MC has huge potential to be great but lack knowledge/skill and therefore are looked down upon
- MC need to work really hard to keep up with the rest of the members
- Really nice cast of characters / interactions and good animation.
So if you have seen Diamond no Ace and liked it then you'll probably like Ao Ashi too.
same art style + arrogant mc / this one is just baseball though

- Loud, hardworking, endearing protagonist with zero to hero development
- Elite team settings
- If you are noob to both sports, watching them gives you (sport) 101 class in such entertaining way
