WataMote is at least self-aware in its character-based cringe gags; Kuma Miko does it unintentionally whilst vilifying the abuse (both mental and physical) that protag suffers at the hand of people she trusts as 'cute' and 'moe'.
Both have a girl with a serious challenge to integrate into society , which leads to the most uncomfortable situations , but she is determined to change .
KumaMiko and WataMote have a unique way of making you cringe and crack up at the same time.
Both shows follow a young girl that wants to break from her small sheltered life and into the REAL world.
However, through a combination of bad luck and misunderstandings, fueled by their massive insecurities, their attempts typically end in humiliating defeat.
Both shows do a good job of taking you inside the minds of very shy and socially awkward people. The inner monologues Machi and Tomoko have as they work themselves into a panic are very similar.
