Boy meets superpowers. Boy is faced with the decision on whether he wants to change the world or not.
Follow Lelouch and Yu and their journey on saving the world from a deadly problem.
Main character possesses the power to control people using his eyes, both powers require eye contact and are somewhat restricted.
Said powers are used mainly to achieve MC's selfish goals, sometimes disregarding all the consequences.
Other people are able to use powers of their own, however they are different from the MC's.
Both main character are very theatrical and use excessive gestures.
Annoying sister is only a cherry on top.

Two of the main characters have similar personalities, plus, they also look very alike. There is supernatural in both anime that consists of powers hidden from the world.
Charlotte is code geass version with no action, mecha, armors, geass, sci-fi, immortal girl, politics war, pizza girl (oh leave it), and some idealism inside..
beside it, both have strange girl, main hero with a badass-evil and fake smile with the power in their eyes (also the power isn't same), cool-but-baka partners/friends, super power, good strategy/tactics (i'm think code geass is more of tactics), and drama that can drop your tears ..
With the different and similarities from both series, we can conclude that Charlotte is Slice of life and reality version of Code geass with less tactics and strange heroine.
The personality and the abilities of the main characters are very similar. Both have the power to control other people and are faced with a choice of whether to use it for their selfish goals or for greater good.
Arrogant boy with supernatural powers meets with a girl and explores with said powers and in this case it would be mind control with that eye.

Although Code Geass and Charlotte have vastly different plots, both MCs, Lelouch and Yuu obtain a superpower to control other people by will.
With Yuu spiralling down due to abuse of power. And Lelouch using this power to defeat Britannia. They both pair up with a female peer to help. C.C. helps Lelouch on his quest, whilst Nao tries to make Yuu become a better person. Both Lelouch and Yuu have a sister they are willing to protect at any cost as well.
With Code Geass being an epic mix of action, mecha, military and drama. Charlotte is for lighter tastes being a drama with slow romance.

Yu and Lelouch look exactly the same they both use a power in their eye and control a designated person.
Except one is far superior than the other.
Both share a main character with similar ideologies, (although one comes later then another) and main characters share a similar ability. Each has unique relationships between characters, Code Geass is stronger on the world building side of things, and Charlotte is on the stronger side of action and creativeness with abilities.

both have same eye power which is limited and the MC should think before use it
also there is some kind of school theme and relations in code geass which is same with charlotte in some ways
