Darker than Black and Code Geass are both in a technological world where the protagonist have a very powerful ability. There are lots of pizza hut hidden in the background or just somewhere on the screen. Suspense and fights, thats what they are all about.

Whilst they aren't really terribly alike, the dark themes these two anime's share make them both highly recommendable, and if you like one then you will probably like the other. Both of the main characters, Hei and Lelouch, obtain supernatural abilities, and whilst Lelouch manipulates people and leads a revolution, Hei is manipulated by a mysterious company. But both characters seek to change the way the world currently works for the better.

Lelouch and Hei are very similar in that they both have supernatural abilites obtained through a "contract" (different meanings in each anime, but still a contract :P ) They wear a mask to the public (Lelouch is Zero and Hei is BK-201)and both are devoted to their little sisters. Both have Pizza Hut everywhere and mysterious green haired girls (well, one of them is really blond, but sometimes it looks green). If you like one of them, you'll probably like the other ;)

The characters are very similar to each-other Hei is to LeLouche as Amber is to CC. Amber and CC even look alike! Now back to WHY. The goal for each of them (Lelouche and Hei) both involve their sisters. Both have "magical" powers to help them succeed in their way of their goal. Either finding or protecting it seems so alike.

If you like code geass then you might like this anime too... Both of them are action-packed.The only difference is that code geass has mechas in it while Darker Than Black doesn't. Well if you like an action packed anime with assasinations this one is for you.

I found similarities between the two series: ♥ hei and lelouch are involved in contracts ♥ there is always a cat ♥ hei and lelouch wear masks and have their own different identities (hei - BK201, lelouch - zero) ♥ hei and lelouch also wear their costumes (coat and cloak) ♥ hei and lelouch are desperate when it comes to their sisters ♥ hei and lelouch have black hair ♥ hei and lelouch have something in their eyes when using their powers (natural for those who have the same powers: contractors' powers and geass) ♥ amber and C.C. have similar character design ♥ both series are worthwhile :)

If you like one, you'll like the other, but not only that, both are about masked men with super powers taking on large governmental entities.

For all that Code Geass is all about being over-the-top and Darker Than Black is all about leaving things open-ended and unexplained, the similarities in style and tone are uncanny. Both are dark, morally ambiguous stories where nothing is as it seems and supernatural powers are used with deadly intelligence and a decided lack of conscience. Both involve conflict among several shadowy groups and both protagonists have to balance selfish goals with principles they didn't necessarily realize they still had. Superficial similarities abound as well. If you liked the dark, complex and twisty storyline where important things are only revealed slowly, the conflicted antihero, and   read more

-both are very dark -lots of people want the main guy killed -both main girls are very important to the main guy -supernatural powers which are very creative are in -at one point the main guys are basically like "F the world, i'll do what i want!" -both are set in the future -both guys have 2 lives. -both have second seasons. -the "outside" world does not know of these supernatural powers. -there will be important people dying

Both feature badass mask-wearing dual-personality protagonists who are trying to change the world in one form or another (Lelouch in a much more outward manner). Both shows also make use of mysterious, even mystical green-haired women who have a strong influence on the male lead. Of the two, Code Geass has the more grandiose plot and is more overtly entertaining, while DtB exudes subtler themes and tones. If for whatever reason you haven't seen either of these shows, do so now :P

DTB and Code Geass both have lead male protagonists who have double lives. They fight while having their real identities concealed towards their opponents, Hei more so than Lelouch overall. Lelouch and Hei both have effective special powers they use in battle except Hei is more of a close-combat fighter.

Both shows involve a supernatural aspect that give the antagonists a boost in their lives. Action packed, grabs your interest. Although Geass is a bit more serious than DTB

If you like Code Geass then you will probably like Darker Than Black as well, since it have some similarities although the plots are not generally the same. - both protagonists are kind of anti hero - both have supernatural powers in connection with a contract - both have a special bond with their sisters - double identity: Lelouch-Zero, Hei/Black Reaper

Both are set in high tech worlds with anti hero like characters that have strange supernatural like powers to them and both have strong moments of suspense in them as well too.
