These anime are stories that revolve around revenge and destinies. The stories are dramatic, and entirely driven by the male leads, Lelouch in Code Geass and Yoshino in ZnT, both of whom are thinkers who can come up with brilliant strategies to overcome even dead-end situations.

Ever heard great minds think alike? Yoshino is a great thinker, just like Lelouch. Both are powerless when it's hand to hand combat but excel when out thinking opponents. Both Lelouch and Yoshino need the strong opposite in the duo. In Code Geass, ita Suzaku and Zetsuen no Tempest it's Mahiro. Also, I can see a relationship between Suzaku and Nunnally almost like Yoshino and Aika. Lastly,C.C and Hakaze are women with an ability. Without that ability they become useless and they both cling on to the thinker.

Both are tales about revenge, changing the world, and the dealings of fate. They are very dramatic & epic with great characters (even great female ones!).

Code Geass (R2 included) and Zetsuen no Tempest are quite similar in many ways ranging from underlying themes, presentation, and characters. They both share different Shakespearean elements and themes reflected in Hamlet (revenge, martyrdom, etc.), but this aspect emphasized more in ZnT for different plot reasons (that I will not mention for spoilers). The greatest similarity is between the characters. Lelouch is most similar to Yoshino- both are cognitive individuals who remain calm even when the time is most tense and think things through. They both also have secrets that make and shape their character. Mahiro is most similar to Suzaku- both   read more

In case you like this kind of anime, than Code Geass would be ideal for you. Why? Here is why: Both anime have big depth, and one huge common point. "Which side is the right side?", in other words "What is good and what is evil?" .. Both of them are questioning the world order and if it this world really is worth living in. Also, in both we have sacrifices made for the sake of saving many, but even so, someone is still suffering because of those sacrifices. If I tell anything more, it wouldn't be fun, right? Take a look at it and see   read more

Code Geass shares similar themes with Zetsuen no Tempest, the most apparent being revenge. Both protagonists set out on a journey to seek said revenge, and find a world much darker and more violent than they could have previously imagined. While Code Geass focuses much more on military tactics than magic or witches, the overall feel of both anime is similar. And as both anime progress, the characters come to realize things about themselves and their situations that will change them.
